The review of progress during 2007/2008 academic year is detailed below. The Strategic Plan does not cover everything the Students’ Association does, therefore isn’t exhaustive, however it does include the major work areas.
In each of the six main work area categories – Representation, Students Activities/Services, Training and Development, Welfare and Advice, Marketing and Resources/Support/Systems – the overall aim has been highlighted together with the objectives. Under each of the objectives, details have been given of the progress made in achieving the objective. What is not apparent below is the time commitment and effort that has gone into achieving some of the objectives, which has been considerable, whilst others have been achieved relatively easily.
I have highlighted a very small number of the achievements here, however would strongly recommend readers take the time to look through the whole document in order to get a more comprehensive flavour of the variety of work undertaken and progress made.
The three year Strategic Plan 2005 – 2008 comes to an end with this review of 2007/08. As we are now involved in the Students’ Union Evaluation Initiative (SUEI) which requires us to examine the major elements of our work ensuring positive outcomes for our members, we shall be writing a short term Strategic Plan for 2008/09. Both this review and the strategic plan for 2008/09 will be put onto the AUSA website for information.
I would like to thank sincerely, all our staff, Sabbatical Officers and volunteers who have contributed to providing the ever increasing range of events, initiatives and services, for all their hard work, commitment, dedication and on many occasions, patience and tolerance! Also for embracing changes and new initiatives that have been introduced in an attempt to further strive for continuous improvement.
We have continued to make progress during 2007/2008 in working towards the achievement of our vision of ‘enriching and supporting the student community by providing a wide range of high quality services and opportunities.’
