Fairtrade Fortnight 2011

Fairtrade 2011

Once again, it’s Fairtrade fortnight at the University of Aberdeen!  And, what does this mean for everyone? Well, apart from encouraging all the beautiful people of the university to buy more fairtrade and ethically traded products, there are competitions, deals on hoodies, and even free tea, coffee and chocolate being given out around campus.

Fairtrade is a company that makes sure that farmers get a fair deal for their products. The emphasis being on fair.  It works in many countries all over the world, paying a fair price for everything, from coffee to vegetables, and from cotton to beer (yes, BEER!)

So, this fortnight, if you see the fair-trade logo, take a look, and maybe even buy it.  It’s a good deal for you, and an even better deal for those that make it.
