Accessibility features
Much of the work that we do in making the Site accessible may not be immediately obvious, unless you are someone who directly benefits from one of the features we employ. Here are some of the main features that you may not be aware of:
Resizable text
All text in the Site, including navigation links and menus, can be made bigger or smaller by using the "A A A" icons above the main content of each page on the AUSA website.
Navigation aids (screen readers)
Users of screen readers, or speaking browsers, will find that we have arranged the links on every page to help you navigate around the site.
Breadcrumb Trail
The site provides a ‘breadcrumb’ trail above the main content of each page to show users the path from the home page to the current page in the site.
Standards compliance
The Site is built using XHTML and CSS, according to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standards. It is designed to comply with our own accessibility standards, in line with recognised best practice, such as the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Printable pages
All the pages on the AUSA website are set to print the central content area, and strip out unnecessary links and graphics.
