Hi and welcome to the Sports Section of the Students' Association Website. This is a temporary site while a new all singing and dancing website should hopefully be online for fresher's week.

For many, sport is an integral part of student life. We have a massive range of clubs including traditional clubs, martial arts and non competitive clubs.

Our clubs aim to cater for all standards from novices to Olympic hopefuls.

We run a number of intra mural leagues and one off events, details of all of our events can be found on this site.

If that doesn't suit you then you can use Sport and Recreation facilities at a special student rate including the swimming pool, performance gym, squash courts and their fitness classes.

If you want to know more about our clubs you can contact them on the links on this site, or for further information on anything to do with sport or the Sports Union you can

email vpsport@abdn.ac.uk or phone 01224 272311

Sports Clubs A-Z

There are 58 Clubs Affiliated to the Sports Union.

The clubs cater for nearly every sport, but if there is a sport missing off the list that you want to take part in the sports union can help you form a club.

Many of the clubs run taster or beginner sessions at the start of each term. However, if you have any problems contacting a club or finding out a bit about what the club does just contact the Sports Union office for more information.

Gordon Cox Vice President of Sport

PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK TO OUR NEW STUDENTS ASSOCIATION SPORTS UNION WEBSITE.

After 2 years service to the Sports Union as JVP and SDO, four years service to the rifle club, including being captain for 2 years and as a plodder for the rugby club, Gordon has been given the task of overseeing the 58 sports clubs that the university has to offer. Gordon likes sport so much that he frequently sits on the armchair and watches it! Not entirely fair, Gordon is a Full Blues winner in rifle as well as representing Scotland at Schools and University level. On top of this ‘athletic prowess’ is his dedication to all aspects of the Sports Union. As you would expect from the Sports Union Volunteer of the year and Scottish University Sports (SUS) first ever Volunteer of the year, you are bound to find him in early and leaving late, If you need any sporting help or guidance throughout the year Gordon would go out of his way to help, the first few weeks of the job have already seen him on his knees begging for more Lacrosse training time!
