AUSA Welfare & Equal Opps

Welfare may not be the sexiest topic on students' lips, but I can assure you it is on ours!! While at university AUSA wants to make sure your time here is the best it can be and also as safe as possible. To help ensure you are all kept safe and sound AUSA offers a range of welfare services that operate around the clock to ensure you have the support you need.

Your Welfare Team

Jenny Batty is your President for Welfare and Equal Opportunities and is there to represent your needs full time both within the association and to the university at large. You can email her on: pres.welfare@abdn.ac.uk or visit AUSA on the second floor of Butchart to see her lovely face!!

Vita Zaporozcenko is your Vice President of Equal Opportunities coming along to the Equal Opportunities Committee and helping out with campaigns! She can be contacted on: vp.equalopps@abdn.ac.uk.

Patrick Rochford is your Vice President for Welfare and is there to represent you welfare needs to the welfare committee and the university community at large. He attends the Welfare Committee getting her 2p in and helps Jenny out with campaigns.

Patrick Rochford was born in England, lived in Ireland and currently resides in Aberdeen, where he serves as your Vice-President of Welfare.  He is currently in second year studying Politics and International Relations. His interest in the position stem from the fact he was Equality Officer in NUI Galway Students' Union and has a long record of being involved in  welfare/equality/human rights positions. Some of the things he would like to achieve during the year are 1) An renewed focus on Mental Health, 2) A Highly visible and effective Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance (SHAG) Week and 3) seeing an increased improvement in the quality of welfare campaigns. His likes include Jack Daniels, Freshers Week and sitting in Alfies pretending to work whilst actually sitting around drinking coffee as if we were member's of the cast of Friends.  Dislikes include dissenters, beetroot and people who fail to see his plans for world domination as viable.
