Last week was a week full of meetings but for a nice change most of them were with students! On Monday, Tuesday, and Friday I set aside some time to continue my individual Presidents Meetings – in total I was able to have a meet with 28 of our clubs! It’s been great to be able to sit down and have a chat with the presidents about their clubs and their plans for the year.
On Monday, the sabb team attended another Student Partnership Agreement meeting to discuss how the University and AUSA can work in harmony this year. Here's a pic of the sabb plan for the SPA.
Wednesday was the first day of BUCS fixtures. A big thank you to all our clubs competing for bearing with us over the past week. There will still be issues with BUCS Play throughout the semester and to solve these we need your support and patience, so please keep it up!
I also spent a large part of last week organising for Superteams (coming this Wednesday!). We’re all set to go ahead, it should be a great day for students!
On Friday I met with the Assistant Director of Estates (University) regarding the cleaning and upkeep of King’s Pavilion. As part of the King’s User group project, I’m working with clubs and the University to create a Housekeeping Document to ensure the facility is used to its full potential.
Again on Friday, I launched the Sports Union Club of the Week piece. A key part of my manifesto was celebrating students and using AUSA media to promote their achievements. These posts will be going up every week from now on!
Finally, on Friday I attended the quarterly ASV Monitoring Group along with Danielle, ASV Senior Management, and University representatives. I’m happy to say that we were able to discuss the issues that the Sports Union has been having, that these issues have been heard, and will be acted on. Our relationship is moving in the right direction however as with anything it will take time for ASV to feel like the ‘Home of Sport’ for AU students. I’m currently working on a new reporting system for ASV complaints but for now, if there are any issues please send them my way or pop into the Sports Union Office.
