Mission and values
The world is currently facing a terrible refugee crisis and we are moved by the suffering of its victims.
We think the situation is clear – we cannot allow those who have risked their lives to escape war and violence to be forgotten in dire and inhumane conditions in Europe.
Standing together is key to victory and making the world a more profound place. Therefore, Aberdeen University’s Societies, Amnesty, Anthropology, German, Global Minorities Alliance, Model United Nations, Muslim, Shared Planet, and Yadam, have in collaboration with the Environment & Ethics Committee created ‘Aberdeen Uni Sees Refugees Campaign’ – and we need you to stand with us in a campaign of solidarity, so please send us a message (or email Laura at email@example.com) if you can join efforts with us!
Our campaign has (at least) 2 main goals:
- raising awareness of the issues and rethoric surrounding the global crisis
- offering practical solutions and support to communities and families
Our first event is a panel discussion with a very interesting mix of academics, volunteers but also real-life first hand experiences. Come, listen, ask difficult questions.
Join us for the “#RefugeeCrisis – Opportunities and challenges for host countries”
Time: 26th of October, 6pm-8pm
Venue: Kings College Conference Centre, University of Aberdeen campus
More info to be released soon!
