Sewing Training with Aberdeen Sewing Machines

Room 013, Students' Union Building

Wednesday 02 October 2019 at 10am - 12:30pm

This intermediate sewing training session will build on the basic sewing training we offered in September and is open to anyone to attend. By the end of the training, you should be able to make a handbag or a cushion cover using up-cycled materials, such as button-up shirts.

You will gain the following skills:
- Confidence in using a variety of machine stitches and the right foot to match
- Inserting a regular zip
- How to sew a hem suitable for jeans, trousers and skirts
- Simple embroidery stitches
- How to sew on buttons and make a buttonhole

This is a small group training, so trainers from Aberdeen Sewing Machines will be able to spend a lot of time supporting each individual. Certificates will be issued to participants upon completion.
