AURA Model Assembly Workshop

Friday 22 October 2021 at 7pm - 10pm

Only 10 tickets are available for this event. You must be a member of AURA to attend.

This event will be held from 7pm to 10pm but the substantive teaching should be complete by 9pm, with the remaining time available for questions, advice and any further instruction requested by atendees. 

Attendees should expect the workshop to be hands-on with instruction being given first followed by a demonstrain and then an opportunity to do it yourself with the instructor watching over you and providing advice to improve.

During this workshop you will be taught the following:

  1. An overview of the tools used to assemble miniatures and instruction on the use of a hoby knife.
  2. The materials commonly found in miniatures and how to work with them
  3. The handling a sprue and the removal of parts in the cleanest manner
  4. The clean removal of mold lines
  5. An introduction to conversions and kitbashing

Please bring the following with you:

  1. A suitable hoby knife. This can be any penknife provided that it has a locking blade (for safety reasons). If none is available the recomended one to purchase is any Opinel knife of at least a finger's length.
