AberGreen

The AberGreen project has ended as of the 31st of March 2020. You can still view resources, reports, and find out more about sustainability here.

AberGreen is a community-led sustainability education project.

Our aim is to help the uni community reduce its carbon footprint through fun, interactive skills-building events, whilst building on the strong sense of community in Aberdeen.

Our motto is:

Learn - Grow - Have Fun!

How can you be involved?

·         Take part in one of our many events throughout the year!

·         Volunteer with us to gain skills, boost your employability and gain recognition

·         Go out of your comfort zone to enable personal growth and help preserve your natural environment

·         Have fun at one of our many social events, find new friends and exchange ideas with likeminded people!

For more info or just to have a chat, please drop by the AUSA Office and ask for the AberGreen team, or send us an email to abergreen@abdn.ac.uk.

Our monthly events include:

Interactive cooking sessions with a twist

Practical energy reduction training to help you save energy and money on your bills

Creative upcycling workshops to make the most of what you’ve got or create something new

Exciting cycling and bike maintenance events to equip you with the skills and experience you need for the road

Fun gardening and planting sessions to take you out of your comfort zone and into the greenery

We were funded by The Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund (CCF) which provides grants and support for community-led organisations to tackle climate change by running projects that reduce local carbon emissions.
