THE DEADLINE FOR DISBURSEMENT APPLICATIONS HAS NOW PASSED
Supported Charities will be listed in the New Year once all applications have been formally responded to.
Last year we nominated 55 charities, groups and projects in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and on a national level with varying percentages from 8% down to 0.1% of the total we raise. We Aberdeen Students’ Charities Campaign sets to raise thousands of pounds annually for local and national charities. The money raised throughout the year is put into a central pot, and at the end of the year is disbursed to applicants who successfully meet the criteria. The general criteria for applications states that the money will only be disbursed to project activities or project set up costs, that will make a difference to communities in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. However in the 2008 AGM, the motion was passed to include the disbursement to both local and national charities, which is included in the annual disbursement and total target set by the committee during the year.
Disbursement Ceremony
The ceremony is being held on Friday 8th June 7pm – 9pm. Venue TBC. The ceremony itself is a presentation on how the money has been raised by the Charities Campaign and show which charities were successful it also allows the charities to meet with the students who helped raise the money. There will be refreshments available at the event.
