Supporting students

We provide a drop-in centre where you can get  info on a number of matters ranging from financial matters and health to student representation & appeals.

Stress is a major factor in students not completing university or not achieving the academic results they are capable of, and we are here to help take the pressure off your shoulders.

Help is available and appointments can be made, or you can just drop in past, to talk with people who can listen, guide & support you through troubled times.

Niteline service 272829

Niteline

Niteline is a confidential listening & support service for students who may be uncomfortable speaking face to face about any issues they may have.

Open from 8pm to 8am during term time, the service is manned entirely by trained volunteers and all matters are treated in the strictest confidence.

So if you're having trouble sleeping, or even if you're feeling peckish and need the number for a good pizza takeaway, then Niteline can provide that for you too!

Appeals

Ever feel as though you've been unfairly dealt with by a lecturer?

Has there been occasions when the university could have been more understanding and support of your issues and granted you that extension?

Then the time might be to appeal and the first place to start building your case is here!

Class Reps are the grassroots of Quality Enhancement in Higher Education. The reps ensure that the student voice is represented equally and fairly on Staff Student Liaison Committees.

By feeding information and proposals up the ladder the reps act as instigators of new practice and policy.

In the grand scheme of student representation Class Reps play a pivotal role in assuring the student voice is heard at the course level. Link

Work hard, play hard! Students need to get out and have fun, but we also have to remember to stay safe. The best nights out are when you have a good time while you look after yourself and each other.
