Welcome to the AUSA Charities homepage. "Charities" as it is affectionately known is one of the country's longest-running fundraising campaign of its kind. Every year thousands of students work tirelessly to organise events and collections to raise tens of thousands of pounds for local charities across Aberdeen, and the North-East of Scotland.
Last year we raised over £80,000 for over 35 different local charities!
Events in the Charities Campaign calendar include the annual Student Show at HMT (the most successful charity musical in the country), the Torcher Parade (the largest student torch-light parade in Europe), and the newly established RAG Weekl! BookEnds, your second-hand charity bookshop on campus, also donates two thirds of all books and DVDs sold to the Charities Campaign. Keep up with offers and events here!
How do I get involved?
It's really easy to get involved with Charities whether you're interested in helping at a one-off event or running the events yourself. Want some more information on what we do day-to-day? Check us out on Twitter @AUSACharities. Be warned: we love a good hashtag.
What's in it for me?
The simple answer is loads! Not only will you make a bunch of new Charities friends and have loads of fun, you will also learn new skills, experience new things AND raise a lot of money for charities in the North-East of Scotland! When you volunteer with us you also have the opportunity to earn a Saltire Award for the amount of hours you've helped out.
