University of Aberdeen Debater is the University's debating society. Founded in 1848 we aim to promote good faith discussion and debate within the student body. To this end, we run a weekly public debate on Thursday at 7pm with both a table debate and a floor debate open to all. We also run a competitive program for debating as a sport, with training sessions every Tuesday at 6pm and the opportunity to attend competitions in Aberdeen, online, and at other universities around Scotland. All students of the university are automatically members of the society and so all our events are free for everyone. Find more details on our socials!
