Societies are a huge part of university life, and a great chance to meet like-minded people, gain new skills or try something new and exciting. With over 130 societies to choose from we are sure you will find something for everyone.

Setting up a new Society

Here at Aberdeen University Students' Association we already have over 150 societies to choose from, but if you can’t find your passion within that list then why not set a society up yourself? We’re always looking for new ones and it’s really not that hard - simply check out our current listings of societies and check that your soicety is not already in existence, or even similar to an exisitng society.  If not, then you need to have a minimum of 10 potential members willing to support your society.  If you have this then all you need to do is fill in the form below and we will take care of the rest.  If you would like to discuss your potential society before you apply then simply come in and see us for a chat!

Once we have your completed application it’s taken to the Societies Union Committee to make a decission if the application meets the crieteria to become a new society.  Applications are reviewed monthly during term time so the deadline is the last day of each month with decisions made two weeks after that. All applications received after the deadline will be reviewed during the following affiliation session.
