Raising and Giving (RAG) is the major student fundraising group at the University of Aberdeen, and is one of the country’s longest-running fundraising campaigns of its kind. Every year hundreds of students work tirelessly to organise events and collections to raise tens of thousands of pounds for local charities across Aberdeen and the North-East of Scotland.
In 2015/2016 we raised over £120,000 for 36 charities in and around Aberdeen.
RAG events include the annual Student Show (https://www.facebook.com/aberdeenstudentshow/?ref=br_rs) (the most successful charity musical in the country) taking place at His Majesty’s Theatre, the Torcher Parade, Aberdeen University’s Fashion Show and a RAG week full a fundraising events engaging with the community and students.
Bookends (https://www.facebook.com/AUSABookends/) is our second-hand charity bookshop on campus, which donates 30% of every item sold to the RAG campaign.
How to get involved
Get in touch with us if you want some more information on what we are doing this year and if you want to get involved with any of our events and support local charities!
Sports Clubs and Societies
RAG wants to work with sports clubs and societies and make the total even bigger this year! Student groups who sign up will be “RAG stamped” and will be more likely to be considered for awards such as Society of the Year and Sports Club of the Year.
