The Aberdeen Commercial Awareness and Negotiation Society (ACANS) exists to help students build the commercial awareness, negotiation skills and application know-how needed to succeed in competitive graduate recruitment, particularly in law, finance and consulting.
We run a programme of employer insight sessions, CV and application workshops, and negotiation-focused events in partnership with industry professionals and external organisations, giving members direct access to practical advice, networking opportunities and real-world exposure to the recruitment process.
We also lead a team of student writers who publish weekly commercial awareness articles, keeping our members up to date on markets, deals and industry developments throughout the year: reaching a viewership of over 200,000.
Our events are open to students at all stages of their degree, whether you're just starting to think about careers or are deep into applications, and membership gives you access to employer insight opportunities, our writers' content, as well as an opportunity to join our writers team, and a growing community of like-minded students.
