The Aberdeen University Law Society is the largest student law society at the University of Aberdeen and our overall aim is to enhance students’ university experience through a combination of social and academic events. The focus of these events is to support Aberdeen students in their academic achievement and career progression by encouraging them to aim high.

First of all, our opportunities help members who are looking to secure first-year insight schemes, vacation schemes or training contracts whether you are law or non-law students. We host events for students who are considering a career in the legal profession but not only. We have also events and podcasts aimed at highlighting other options that exist.

We are also well-known for our social events! The first term usually kicks off with the Wine & Cheese Night – a night which aims to get all first-year students together to make sure they meet their peers. Each term continues with a vast array of social events, including one of our classics: Family Ties. The highlight is, of course, the Annual Law Ball at the Marcliffe Hotel. This event is held in the middle of the second term and is certainly an event not-to-be-missed!

With the restrictions easing, we can only expect next year to be greater.  So, there’s no better time to join our Law Society. Our membership costs £10 only for the whole academic year! (Please, note that memberships, once bought, cannot be refunded.)

We look forward to seeing you at an event this term!
