Hello and welcome to the University of Aberdeen Reeling Society (Often referred to as Caledonian Societies at other Universites) .

Reeling is a traditional type of Scottish Dancing that is in a similar format to Ceilidh dancing, where we congrate and dance with eachother in large halls, often with Dinner and Dressing up in your smartest outfits! However, Reeling is different, with ties to the military and a fusion between French Line dancing, it is in itself a unique artform with it's own inticacies and complexities.

There are huge balls and events up and down the UK, with the Royal Caledonian Ball in London being the oldest charity ball in the world! We are here to attempt to teach everyone how to do these dances, and take groups to events up and down the country. Recently, our Aberdonians went down to the Royal Vetenary College's Calsoc Ball, and we are minded to head to many more events all over the country!

If you fancy coming along down for a boogie, we run practices every week during term, with no experience required!

Follow our Instgram, it is where all our information is, and from there you can find the link to our Whatsapp group!
