WELCOME!
We are the Burmese Society, a welcoming and inclusive community for Burmese students and anyone interested in Burmese culture. Our aim is to create a space where people can feel at home, connect with others, and celebrate our culture while studying abroad. Whether you’re Burmese or simply curious about Myanmar, everyone is welcome to be part of our society.
We organise a range of events throughout the year to bring people together. This includes cultural celebrations, food events, social gatherings, movie-nights, and relaxed meet-ups where you can unwind and have fun. We also collaborate with other societies to create more exciting and diverse experiences. From big events to casual hangouts, there’s always something to look forward to.
More than just events, we’re about building a strong and supportive community. It’s a place where you can meet new people, share experiences, and feel more comfortable living and studying away from home.
Joining the Burmese Society is a great way to make friends, explore culture, and enjoy your university experience beyond academics. It’s especially helpful if you’re new and looking for a sense of belonging. You’ll get the chance to take part in fun events, meet like-minded people, and create lasting memories.
Your membership also helps support the society, allowing us to organise better events and grow our community. Whether you’re here for the culture, the people, or just the good vibes — we’d love to have you with us!
