Aberdeen Iranian Society campaigns to raise awareness of human rights violations in Iran. It also aims to support the local community in Aberdeen. The society offers a range of activities, from talks and discussions to cultural events. It works closely with other organisations to promote a better understanding of Iran and its culture. It also organises campaigns and fundraising events to support Iranian asylum seekers in Aberdeen.

Mahsa's death became a symbol of human rights abuses in Iran. The campaign includes a variety of activities, such as organizing talks, discussions and educational events, to raise awareness of the situation in Iran.

This in turn resulted in the organisation of over 12 freedom rallies in Scotland over 3 months. These rallies were organised to further raise awareness of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in Iran. Subsequently, the Aberdeen Iranian Society promoted their cause and attracted local media attention such as BBC Scotland, STV and Press & Journal. They used this platform to inform the public about how to support people adversely affected by these events. Most importantly a significant number of Iranian asylum seekers had to flee Iran for a safer location such as the UK.

Furthermore, acknowledging the vulnerability of this group due to their lack of ability to speak English and, therefore, their inability to use the College language support classes provided by the government. The Iranian Society organises weekly beginners' English courses to fill this gap. This is to make sure they are utilising every resource at hand to have a smooth transition into society. They continue to use their platform to further collaborate with local charities in Aberdeen to develop further programmes through which they can provide support for this group.
