We're looking for your ideas on how we can improve student lives. Whether it's a small change that you think will make campus life easier, or a big policy idea that will influence the future of the University, we want to hear from you.

What happens to my suggestion?

 

 

All suggestions that reach 10 votes or more within 4 weeks, will receive a written response from the officers, outlining how we will respond or are already responding to the SU-ggestion, or what factors mean we might not be able to implement the suggestion.

If your idea relates to the establishment of a policy and reaches 30 votes or more within 4 weeks, it will be considered for a debate at our Student Council.

    Postgraduate Job Fair and Employability Support

    I would like the Students’ Union to organise more career support for postgraduate students, such as job fairs, networking events with employers, and internship opportunities.

    Tell us more about why you want the Students' Union to do it

    Postgraduate students need more career-focused support to help us secure internships, placements, and graduate roles. Many of us are international students and finding the right opportunities is difficult without proper guidance and employer connections. If the Students’ Union organises job fairs, internship networking events, and career workshops, it will help PG students gain industry exposure, improve employability, and build strong professional networks

12:13am on 8 Apr 26 Subsidised Certification, expert talk or assisted industrial internship and fair tailored for stream or discipline should be mandated. Encourage local vendors for hiring via fair and call in bigger enterprises for hiring by digital medium if they cannot make to the fairs. Making hiring a norm rather than just a formality and publicize the image of university that utmost prioritize employment. Remember not all students are going to researchers only a few but the majority of them will needing a job after graduation and must be taught industry sought subjects and skills.
