Originating in the depths of the Scottish Highlands, Shinty is one of Scotland’s oldest and most renowned sports.
With similarities to hockey, the goal is to hit the ball through the opponent’s goal using rounded sticks. Differences from hockey arise in the type of ball and stick, along with added contact and aerial manoeuvres.
We’re a laid-back team with ranging abilities meaning ANY AND ALL levels of fitness or experience are completely welcome!
And there’s no pressure to play in matches until you feel confident!
We’re all great friends on the team so everyone will help support and train you alongside our ace 2018 captains, Hayden and Claire.
Keen to try but a little apprehensive? Don’t worry most of our team hadn’t played before university!
COME JOIN US AT TRAININGS:
WEDNESDAYS 2-4PM @ SEATON PARK (beside playpark)
THURSDAYS 9PM @ HILLHEAD
