Welcome to the Aberdeen University Women’s Hockey Club!
As one of the biggest sports clubs at Aberdeen University, we are determined to stay strong both on and off the pitch. Everyone across the club shares the same enthusiasm and love of hockey- no matter how much experience they have. Whether you’re a keen player, or have never picked up a stick before AUWHC is incredibly accommodating.
We currently have 6 teams, ranging in ability, playing in leagues across BUCS and North District, with our 1XI playing in the Women's National League. We will be playing our BUCS games on Wednesdays, both home and away and also have games on weekends. We train at both Aberdeen Sports Village Pitches (ASV) and Hillhead Pitches (HH). Our training sessions are on Mondays 5-8pm (HH), Tuesdays 5-8.30pm (HH), Thursday 6.30-8pm (HH), Thursdays 5-7pm (ASV) and Fridays 5-7pm (HH). Which training sessions you attend will depend on which team you play for.
Our development team also train within these session times. Not only are these sessions important in improving our skills, fitness and matchplay but they are an opportunity to meet new people and have fun with your friends.
The club doesn’t stop there, the social side of hockey at Aberdeen University is also very important to us. You will always find an AUWHC girl in the middle of the dance floor on Wildcard Wednesdays and we take pride in the many socials that we have throughout the year. These socials are huge amounts of fun and a great opportunity to get to know the other girls and the boys’ club, AUMHC.
Another exciting part of our year is Tour, which we plan for after exams and the beginning of Summer. Previous years have included Dublin, Salou (Spain), Lloret de Mar (Spain), Budapest, Prague and this past summer our girls had the best time in Lisbon!

We really hope to see you at our Give-it-a-go session, on Wednesday 20th of September @ Hillhead hockey pitches from 3-5pm.
Once memberships are paid, we'll add you to the main group where you can keep up to date on matches, socials and everything going on in the club.
Everybody is welcome at AUWHC - from those who have been playing hockey their whole lives to the girls who are wanting to try something new.
