Interested in playing lacrosse? Lacrosse is not only one of the fastest growing sports at the University of Aberdeen, but also around the World. Referred to as 'the fastest game on two feet’, the sport was founded by the Native Americans. It is a full contact, high speed sport that requires top-level fitness, quick decision making, and a willingness to learn. If you have played any sport, you will have an advantage on the lacrosse pitch.
So are you keen to try? … Perhaps nervous about never having played before? Don’t worry ... Nearly 90% of our club had not picked up a stick before their first training session.
AUMLC is a welcoming club which is open to all skill levels. We normally host weekly socials, training, fitness, and film sessions. Our social calendar is pretty extensive, with socials on Wednesdays, a Christmas Meal, an annual Lacrosse Ball, an annual Lacrosse tour, and more! In recent tours, we have travelled to Germany, Spain, Dublin and Croatia. So it is something not to be missed!
Our training schedule is as follows:
• Monday - training @ Aberdeen Sports Village (Outdoor Hockey Astro) (8:30-10:00 PM)
• Wednesdays - BUCS League Games.
• Sunday - training @ Kings Pitches (12:00-2:00 PM)
We are hoping to make this one of our best years yet, so if you have any questions please feel free to get in contact using our email address (lacrosse.men@ausa.org.uk) and follow our Instagram (aulax_) to keep up to date with all the latest from AUMLC.
