Welcome to Aberdeen University Road Cycling Club

We are a cycling club for students, run by students in Aberdeen, we have members who study at other North East institutions, such as Robert Gordon University, SRUC, and NESCOL. If it's social cycling or competitive racing you are interested in, then send us a message to find out how you can get involved. It's not all just cycling though, we regularly team up with UoA Mountain Biking and have lots of nights of out and club socials.

The club aims to create a welcoming and friendly environment for all students interested in and dedicated to the sport. Through training and technical sessions, the club actively encourages and supports riders to compete locally, nationally, and internationally with the aid of the Aberdeen University Sports Association (AUSA). Join us if you want to race against other Scottish uni's at the SSS events or UK-wide at BUCS. 

The club offers weekly rides around the Aberdeenshire countryside with mixed groups of ability and fitness, meeting on Campus at Kings Pitch. Club rides are always weather-dependent, so it is important to be socially involved with the club to keep up to date with events. Rides are led by club captain or an experienced member of the club. We implement a 'no-drop' strategy on rides, meaning that if somebody falls behind or has a mechanical issue, the group will not leave them.

*It is imperative that anybody wishing to attend club rides is familiar with the AURCC Safety Code (available to all members). This implies that riders understand the highway code, have a working, mechanically sound bike and are wearing appropriate equipment*

Additionally, the club offers Strength and Conditioning sessions at Kings Pavilion, in partnership with Aberdeen University Mountain Biking (AUMBC). With the help of Aberdeen University Triathletes, weekly spin sessions are held in the newly developed Cycle Studio at Aberdeen Sports Village. All club training times can be found below.

Strength & Conditioning - 1830-2030 @ Butchart Gym

Wednesday:

AURCC Ride ~50km - 1330 @ Kings Pitch 

Thursday: 

Strength & Conditioning - 1500-1700 @ Butchart Gym

Sunday:

AURCC Ride ~50-100km - 1000 @ Kings Pitch
