How do I report an issue with Facilities?
If you believe an accident or near-miss was caused by a facility-related issue - or you have noticed something unsafe - please complete the this form Student Activity Equipment and Facility Reporting Form (UoA Campus or ASV) - or use the QR code below. Reporting these issues helps us keep activity spaces safe, clean, and well-maintained for all students.

If an accident, incident, near-miss, or ill-health event happens during any Student Activity - whether it is on campus (Students’ Union, University buildings, Aberdeen Sports Village) or off campus (fixtures, trips, socials, training sessions) - please follow the steps below to report it.

How do I report an Accident, Incident or Near-Miss?
If someone involved in your activity is injured or affected by an accident, incident, or near-miss, a member of your activity group or committee should complete the reporting form — not the injured person.

Please submit the form as soon as possible — you can provide extra details later if needed.
This form must be completed even if you’ve already reported the issue to the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen Sports Village, or another organisation.

I was a Witness to Accident what do I need to do?
If you witness an accident, please complete Activity Accident, Incident and Near-Miss Witness Statement or use the QR code below.
This is a confidential document used for internal investigation by the Students’ Union.

Does Students Union provide First Aid Training or Course?
The Students’ Union, in partnership with Aberdeen Sports Village, offers the RLSS UK Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification - a nationally recognised course designed to equip students with essential emergency first aid skills.
Qualification:
- Upon successful completion, participants will receive an RLSS UK Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate.
Course Content:
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
- Managing an unresponsive casualty (not breathing and breathing normally)
- Recognising and assisting a choking casualty
- Managing shock and external bleeding
- Assessing incidents and handling minor injuries
Course Details:
- Duration: Two 4-hour evening sessions (approx. 5:30–9:30 PM)
- Attendance: Both sessions are mandatory for certification
- Venue: Aberdeen Aquatics Centre, Regent Walk, Aberdeen AB24 1SX
Booking / Cost / Cancellation / Reschedule:

- Acknowledgement: Your booking request will be acknowledged by email. Once course dates and times are available, you willl receive an email and a invitation to attend..
- Confirmation: Final details will be confirmed by email provided there are a minimum of 12 participants. Dates will be re-confirmed at least one week before the course date.
- Fee: £60 will be invoiced after the course date.
- Unable to attend: If you can no longer attend, please contact the Sports Office as soon as possible
- Rescheduling: May be possible; however, if a replacement delegate cannot be found, the full course fee still applies.
- Refunds: Only available in exceptional circumstances
- Venue: Aberdeen Aquatics Centre, Regent Walk, Aberdeen AB24 1SX
Please Note: The course may be emotive in nature, so be prepared for potential emotional responses. Our instructors create a supportive learning environment to assist you throughout the course.
First Aid Kits and Supplies
Thanks to funding from the University of Aberdeen Development Trust, the Students’ Union now provides fully stocked, branded first aid kits to sports teams and high-risk societies .Kits are distributed by the Sports Office - if your team or society has not received one but should have, please contact the Sports Office
Each kit meets British Safety Standards; Includes a Stock Control Sheet; contains a QR code linking directly to the Accident, Incident & Near-Miss Reporting Form. A small supply of replacement items is available to help teams keep their kits stocked.
