Last Friday was a lot of fun but some things went wrong :(
Last Friday, we held a Rock and Metal Party at Underground Club and reserved a booth afterwards for the Crash Clubnight. Overall, the night was mostly successful, but for reasons out-with our control, we were forced to make a number of compromises on the night, which meant the night did not run as smoothly as it ought to. One such issue was with the end time of our Rock and Metal Party which got moved significantly earlier than agreed. Some of the problems appeared to arise from many of the staff being unaware of our event. This went against what we agreed with the venue and we will be taking this up with the management prior to booking any more events in the same venue. If you had any problems on the night that we are not already aware of, please get in touch.
After the initial set of problems, the night seemed to recover. There is a photo album on our facebook page, which appears to show that people had a lot of fun.
New committee members and society constitution :)
The Rock and Metal Society is run by an elected committee. There are now 6 new members of this committee, bringing the total number to 11. Furthermore, to accommodate these new committee members, as well as to correct some of the problems with the existing constitution, we decided to propose an amendment, which got ratified by a majority vote. This constitution is contained in an email attachment. The main thing this effects is it may improve our ability to get additional funding from AUSA, which we have recently been successful in obtaining.
The committee is now as follows, new committee members are underlined.
