Welcome to Aberdeen University Gymnastics Club!
Throughout the year we enter competitions across the UK ranging from beginner level to elite in a variety of events, including BUCs (British University Championships), SUGL (Scottish University Gymnastics League), and in-house competitions. Of course, competing is not compulsory, however these events allow you to meet other gymnasts from all over the UK, have a fun weekend with new found friends, and escape Aberdeen for some sun!
Throughout the year we will also have training camps outside of our regular scheduled sessions, these will take place at other gymnastics gyms across Scotland for a change of scenery. These also include socials, workshops, and a chance to make friends from other unis. We even have an exciting opportunity to take part in a training camp abroad!
On top of trainings and competitions we also have a variety of socials that are regularly organised. From nights out, to sober activities like ice skating, these are a great way to have a great time outside of training and build up our friendships and memories. You really won't ever be bored in this club as there is always something going on to suit everyone!

Training session times 2026/2027
This year we will have 3 training sessions, these will be 2 basic sessions and 1 apparatus session. These are as follows:
-Tuesdays @ ASV running track [7pm-9pm]
-Fridays @ Alex Collie [1pm-3pm]
-Saturdays @ Butchart dance studio [12pm-2pm]
Our basic sessions this year run on a weekly rotation where we change themes every week to keep it interesting for our members. Our give-it-a-go will be a more general session to allow you to get a feel for the sport and see what you can [still] do. After that, we’ll start off with week 1 where our focus will be cartwheel progressions. This can include bunny hops, cartwheels, free cartwheels, and side somis. Our sessions are open to all levels, and our fantastic coaches can adapt any station to meet you where you’re at.
Our membership prices 2024/25
Basic membership: access to the Butchart and ASV weekly trainings and our socials! Includes insurance in the event of injury.
- Full year: £45
- One term only: £25
Apparatus membership: access to the Friday apparatus training sessions! Requires basic membership for insurance purposes.
- One term: £40
Single session: We now offer single sessions to those who just want to give gymnastics a try. These are only £8 per session, cheaper than any available adult gymnastics class!
