About Us
Founded in 2023 we have 2 men's teams and a weekly social futsal session. All of our teams compete in the Scottish Student Sport Futsal leagues and train at the Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV), social futsal also takes place at ASV. Some of our players come from AUFC or other uni football teams. While our social futsal can also be a great opportunity if you are looking for something more casual.
In 2024 we won AUSA Club of the Year, the Scottish Conference Cup, Scottish Futsal League (SFL) Aberdeen and SFL Aberdeen league cup. .
What is Futsal? Originating in Brazil, Futsal is indoor football played in a gym hall, each team has 5 players (including a goalie), Futsal uses Hockey sized goals and uses kick-ins rather than throw-ins.
Who are we? UOA Futsal since 2023, has facilitated UOA students to participate in both casual and competitive Futsal throughout each University semester. During the term we also put on socials and fundraisers, frequently raising money for charities such as the Denis Law Legacy Trust and the Movember Foundation.
Competitive Futsal 26/27. During the 26/27 academic yer we will be running 2 men's teams that compete in Scottish Student Sport/BUCS competitions.
- Men's 1s will compete against other Scottish Universities in the Scottish first tier. Fixtures are once a month on a Sunday.
- Men's 2s will compete against other Scottish Universities in the Scottish second tier. Fixtures are once a month on a Sunday.
We will also be competing in the new Aberdeen Futsal league with fixtures taking place on a Wednesday.
How do I get into a team? Trials will be held at the start of the semester and are open to all, sign up links will be advertised on our Instagram, in our Whatsapp groups and during the welcome week fair.
Successful trialists will be allocated into a team and expected to attend team training once a week and to games.
If you are unsuccessful during trials or are unable to attend, we often recruit from social Futsal throughout the year and you are also welcome to attend team training each week.
Can I play non-competitively? Yes - we have a social Futsal session every week at ASV. In this session we play casual games for the whole duration. Any skill level is welcome Futsal or Football experience is not required.

Do I need to have played Futsal before? Absolutely not, the majority of our members had no prior experience of Futsal prior to university, if you have played football before casually or competitively you will feel at home on the Futsal pitch.
Can I play Futsal ants d Football for the University? Absolutely - many of our members play both Futsal and Football for UOA. Our BUCS games are played on a Sunday to avoid clashes with Wednesday Football BUCS fixtures.
