Be more green and save money , lower heating temperature

    • Teaching and Learning
    • Cost of Living
The rooms across campus, study spaces, classrooms and library's are heated constantly to a temperature that is unnecessary for their use and I believe is detrimental to studying, the environment and the budget of the university, something that is already struggling. By dropping the temperature a few degrees and by encouraging the wearing of jumpers if students and staff a cool, clothing they will already be wearing as the last inter months roll on, I believe the university could make a large step towards a much more green approach to heating aswell as likely saving a significant amount of money.

Tell us more about why you want the Students' Union to do it

Surely in times of increase environmental accountability and the financial stress the university is under, with heavily encouraged redundancies and staff layoffs being seemingly the offered solution, saving money and the planet by reducing heating levels in buildings should be an easy choice for the university ?
