What happens to my suggestion?

All suggestions that reach 10 votes or more within 4 weeks, will receive a written response from the officers, outlining how we will respond or are already responding to the SU-ggestion, or what factors mean we might not be able to implement the suggestion.

If your idea relates to the establishment of a policy and reaches 30 votes or more within 4 weeks, it will be considered for a debate at our Student Council.

Pressurise UoA to reinstate Take Home Exams

Sit-down exams favour students from traditional, public school backgrounds trained in passing them, and cause anxiety issues for many. 'Cramming' skills are no longer very career-relevant in an instant information age. AUSA should lobby UoA to bring back Take Home Exams as quickly as it has dropped them.

Tell us more about why you want the Students' Union to do it

UoA introduced Take Home Exams during COVID-19, but they have proved a sensible, modern replacement to the archaic Butchart (etc) experience. Many other unis who made similar pandemic provision have retained 'Take Homes' permanently. Insisting on bringing back the old system makes UoA look archaic: it is also wrong our Uni reintroduced them so suddenly, in courses already running, and with zero student/AUSA consultation.
