Quick questions

If I had to describe myself in 3 words I would use:

Sporty (of course), friendly and innovative.

Best piece of advice I’ve ever received is:

From my mum - 'touch once'. Basically means once you start a task, see it through.

If I had one superpower, it would be:

Teleportation - it's a lot greener than transport.

Favourite thing to do in my spare time is:

Baking.

This year I want to achieve:

A lot! The 3 key themes will be Sport for all, mental health in sport, and improving communication for clubs.

Week 4 (22nd - 28th July)

WEEK 4

Week four was definitely not a bore – as per, there was some induction training but here’s the fun stuff.

On Tuesday we had our induction for the Hillhead building. We got to see the AUSA building (right beside the Headspace Building) and started brainstorming what events we can do there in the coming year. We also snuck some fresh rhubarb which was an added bonus!

On Wednesday I got to meet up with the University’s Student Experience team to discuss ideas for the Gym Buddy scheme we’ll be running in partnership with ASV.
We also had NUS Scotland come visit to talk about their work and what they can do for us as a Students’ Association. RGU, NESCOL, and SRUC also joined for the meet up. It was great to meet all the Aberdeen sabbs, it gave us an opportunity to talk about some joint campaigns we’ve got planned – keep your eyes peeled!

On Thursday we were invited to come along to the Summer School BBQ which was grand because free food. The Summer School is made up of mainly international students who are starting their degrees in September. In the past, AUSA has struggled to get this demographic engaged with our activities so it was really beneficial to be able to go and chat to the students and let them know what AUSA can do for them. We also got to talk to some of the lecturers and we now have plans to come along to some of their classes to say hi to everyone.

This week the sabb team in in Leeds for the NUS Lead and Change conference - should be good time!
