Quick questions

If I had to describe myself in 3 words I would use:

Sporty (of course), friendly and innovative.

Best piece of advice I’ve ever received is:

From my mum - 'touch once'. Basically means once you start a task, see it through.

If I had one superpower, it would be:

Teleportation - it's a lot greener than transport.

Favourite thing to do in my spare time is:

Baking.

This year I want to achieve:

A lot! The 3 key themes will be Sport for all, mental health in sport, and improving communication for clubs.

Week 6 (5th - 11th August)

WEEK 6

With NUS conference last week, this week has been packed with meetings, emails, and some prep for Fresher’s Week - wristbands now on sale www.ausa.org.uk/whatson/freshersweek/

On Tuesday I had a catch-up with Jess (Competitions Co-ordinator) and Eilidh (Regional Development Officer) from Scottish Student Sport to chat about the current state of our facilities, and how SSS can work with the Sports Union to improve them. We also talked about club development, and how BUCS is changing to a new app-based system (BUCSPlay) this year for all competitions

On Thursday Louise and I had a quick meeting with the university’s security team. We chatted about how they can help AUSA with running events on campus and how they can help students – if you haven’t already check out the SafeZone app! www.safezoneapp.com/

On Friday, the sabb team met with the university’s Student Experience team and the Senior Vice-Principle, Karl Leydecker, to discuss our Student Partnership Agreement. The SPA is a document used to help define AUSA’s relationship with the university. The 2 year plan allows us to work on common goals and work together to achieve them. In the meeting we discussed the positives and negatives of the current SPA, mainly that the document doesn’t reflect the goals of AUSA’s new strategic plan (coming soon).
Over the next week the sabbs will be going through the current SPA, making recommendations for changes for a new document that will better reflect our relationship with the university.

P.S. if you missed it we have free mooncups – they’re good for the planet and your wallet!
