Come along for a fantastic opportunity to explore Aberdeen on foot or by bike, and end your journey with outdoor activities up at the Tory Battery hosted by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.
Meet the AUSA AberGreen Team at Union Brew at 12.00pm where after brief introductions we’ll give you a free water bottle to keep, and a delicious sandwich prepared for you by the Shared Planet Society. We’ll then set off in groups to walk through the campus and the city centre up to the Tory Battery. The walk will take approximately 1.5hrs, so comfy shoes will be required. Please bring appropriate clothing in case of light rain.
If you’d rather travel up by bike, our AberGreen staff will guide you through the sea side, with a well-deserved stop at one of Aberdeen’s hidden gems, Footdee (locally known as Fittee).
Once at the top in Tory, you'll discover panoramic views of the harbour mouth and the North Sea, and will be spending time looking out for dolphins splashing around the harbour entrance. You may also spot other marine mammals like seals or even a whale. We have some outdoor games prepared for you too to compete in teams!
Spaces at this event are limited, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Sign up is essential through our AUSA website by midnight on Thursday 6th September.
Please note that the event will go ahead in case of rainy weather, with slight adjustments!
