Freshers' Fayre - Day One

Butchart Recreation Centre

Tuesday 12 September 2023 at 10am - 4pm

Don't miss our biggest event of the year - the Freshers' Fayre takes place over 2 days and 3 locations, and this one is going to be our biggest yet...

Where: Butchart Centre

This will be the heart of most activity.  Hosting 160+ sports and societies, free Domino’s pizza and food trucks galore - this is going to be the place to be Tuesday and Wednesday of Freshers’ week. Each day will be different, so make sure you clear your calendar both days!

Queue Skip

Book a free ticket for your chosen half hour slot.  This will get you into the priority line to minimise your waiting time.

Not sure when you'll get there?

No problem.  Book a general admission ticket and we will get you in when we can.   If you miss your slot, don’t stress, we'll simply ask you to join our general admission line and you will still get to join the Fayre.

Quiet Hour

We are also offering a quiet hour from 10-11am for those who would prefer to miss the rush and have a more relaxed experience.

No music will be played during this time and capacity will be much more limited than the rest of the day.  We will also have volunteers on hand to help anyone who may need a bit of support to navigate the Fayre.

Where: King’s Pitches

When you're finished at Butchart, head over to King's Pitches where festival vibes, student activities doing demonstrations and playing games, giant inflatable fun, garden games, alpacas and good music are the order of the day.

Look out for the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man, and some special 'guests' to help guide the way...

Where: Elphinstone Lawn

This area will see performances from our some of our more artistic clubs and societies.

Make sure you stop by to be serenaded by one of our choirs or enjoy the backflips of our gymnastic club.

Important Ticket Information:

Open from 11-3pm.  More details coming soon.  No tickets required. Outdoor activities are weather permitting of course, this is Scotland afterall...

See you all there!
