Event Description

Newburgh Beach Clean and Bird / Mammal Survey (with NESBReC)

Newburgh Seal Beach

Sunday 26 March 2023 at 10:30am - 2pm

It is time for Climate Week North East and we are taking part! ??

For our event you can come and join us on a trip to the Ythan Estuary where we will go bird watching and see the seals! ????

While we are there we will record what animals we see and hand over this data to NESBReC (North East Scotland Biological Records Centre).
So please come along if you would like to explore this beautiful area and contribute some biological data (no previous experience needed)! ????
We will also do a wee beach clean as we go if there is any litter present! ??

If you would like to join us, you can make your own way to Newburgh Seal Beach, or you can join a group of us who will catch the bus from Aberdeen. ??

If you would like to catch the bus, we will meet outside New Kings building (located at the Aberdeen University campus) at 10:30 am. We will walk to the bus stop together as a group to catch the X63 10:59 am bus.
We should arrive in Newburgh by 11:30 am. ??

We aim for this event to be 2 hours long and will catch the bus at 13:30. Please wear appropriate clothing (warm, waterproof and bring an extra layer) and footwear (preferably hiking boots) as it could get chilly or wet while we are there! It is March in Scotland after all! ???

We hope to see you soon!??
