Hello everyone, and welcome back! This year we are back with our popular Peter Pan astronomy talk, everyone is welcome, and you don't want to miss it! It will be the first event of the new year for the P/A Soc, and we are very excited. To make sure everyone who may still be in quarantine or unable to return to Aberdeen are able to attend, we have decided to make it online, but rest assured, we fully intend to have a second, in-person GIAG event as well.

Did you ever look up at the night sky, perhaps primarily as a child, and wonder if one of the brighter stars was in fact Neverland? As Peter Pan tells us in Disney's animation movie, the fantastic adventure world is located at the second start to the right. Considering the various identifying factors in the movie, is it possible to use scientific astronomy methods to find a pair of stars matching Peter Pan's description? If so, what are the characteristics of these stars? Would the environment around the stars allow for the existence of a habitable world? 

During her masters at Aarhus University in Denmark, Klara Karlsmose (Cand.scient Astronomy) had to prepare a talk on a free topic, with the one requirement that it somehow related to physics or astronomy. She chose Peter Pan. The result was this entertaining, lightweight, and unconventional talk, which she has agreed to give to the Aberdeen University Physics and Astronomy Society.
