Friday 12 March 2021 at 2am - 3:30am

The Aberdeen University Roleplaying Association (AURA) and the Aberdeen University Linguistics Society (AULS) are teaming up to announce that we will be co-hosting a conlanging workshop.
Do Dothraki and Esperanto sound familiar to you? Those are constructed languages!
This workshop will give you an overview of the interesting and diverse conlangs that are out there - both in fantasy and in the real world - and offer advice on how to construct your own – What is your goal for it? How can you get started?
After that, we hope to collaboratively create a little conlang to show just how easy it can be.
This event is open for everybody, so no previous linguistic knowledge or conlanging experience will be needed. If you have worked on your own conlang before though, we would be interested in talking all about it together at the end of the workshop.

The workshop will happen via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, March 17th from 2pm until approximately 3.30pm and will be lead by AURA President Darwin McNeill and Vice President Charlie Holubek-Roth.
We will be sharing the link to the Teams meeting on Facebook and on the AURA Discord server 10 minutes before the event is due to start.
