Welcome, everyone out there who is interested in Aerospace!
As a society, we have the goal of constructing an aircraft to compete in the IMechE UAS Challenge!
The competition requires us to design and manufacture a fully autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV for short) from the bottom up. Our design will be competing against other universities´ designs from all over the world.
Due to the nature of the project, engineering students from all aspects are highly welcome, especially those with a keen interest in mechanical and electrical design as well as programming.
If you aren´t an engineering/computer science student but are still interested in anything aerospace you can still sign up! Everyone is more than welcome!
Apart from the team, which will focus on the competition, we will host several events throughout the year for the rest of our members.
We will have weekly lab/workshop sessions where all team members be actively working on the project. Apart from that, we plan regular meetings where we will be discussing the current state of affairs, project’s obstacles, ideas and deciding on the deadlines.
This is a great possibility for students not only to gain hands-on experience in R&D, Design and Manufacturing processes but also to practice critical thinking and teamwork. Furthermore, the members will expand their knowledge in aircraft manufacture and design.
Apart from gaining practical experience (which is highly valued by employers), most importantly we want our members to have fun and enjoy the opportunity to deliver significant projects as a team.
