Did you know there’s a student-led community garden right here on campus?
Welcome to the Secret Garden! We are an enthusiastic crew of nature lovers, who enjoy growing and eating our own fruit and vegetables. Our aims are to learn and share sustainable techniques for growing fruit and veggies, share the benefits of having a green space on campus and promote nature for mental wellbeing.
No previous experience is required!
We love experimenting and are always trying new things. Some of the random things we’ve done over the years include building a polytunnel, The Forest Garden project - where we grow perennials following the permaculture principles - visiting other community gardens and DIY workshops in sustainable practices.
We have sessions every Sunday from 11am to 1pm to take care of the garden, have a cup of tea and a chat.
Check our Facebook and Instagram accounts to see what we do and receive the latest updates about our events. The Secret Garden is located next to the Butchart centre on University Road, but you can also find us on Google Maps (just look for “The Secret Garden”)
You are always welcome at Secret Garden!
