The Chinese Students and Scholars Association in Aberdeen (CSSA-ABDN), is initiated and established by Chinese students and scholars of the University of Aberdeen.
Established in 2017, CSSA-ABDN is a non-political, non-religious and non-profit organisation, which organises and supports various social and cultural activities among Chinese students and scholars studying and working in Aberdeen, UK. The Association is recognised society by Aberdeen University Students Association (AUSA) and the Chinese Embassy and maintains close connections with the intellectual community in China and other CSSA members across the UK.
We currently have five departments, including secretariat, publicity department, department of public relations, financial department and department of culture and sports. We also have a Basketball Team! We hold different events for Chinese students every month, such as Honor of Kings Competition, celebrations of Mid-autumn Festival and Spring Festivals, Singing Competition, One-week Couple Event, Secret Santa Event etc. At the beginning of each semester, we always organise a Welcome Event for Chinese students to help new students settle down smoothly in Aberdeen. We will continue to provide support for Chinese students and scholars during their entire study at University of Aberdeen.
All the events mentioned above will be posted on our official Wechat account. The majority is free to take part in as long as you have joined our membership on the right-hand side of this page which is also free! Moreover, we regularly post some useful information on our social media, including ‘how to write good essays’ ’useful links during the pandemic’ ‘how to rent a flat’ etc.
So, if you would like a group of like-minded people working and studying together in Aberdeen, please join us! In addition, if you prefer, you can also play a role in one of our departments and involve in organising events and activities.
