Her Campus Aberdeen is unique in the fact that we are both an online student magazine but also an accredited society with the university. Every week we publish our online magazine (with articles on local events, inspiring articles, listicles and the latest beauty and fashion trends) but also host a variety of fun nights out, nights in, charity bake sales and events and get involved with a lot of local businesses. Last year we worked with local charity Children in Need as well as businesses such as Institute, Vodka Revolution and Tea Zone.
We pride ourself in providing fun, light-hearted and engaging content while also providing our writers with a voice on any topic they choose. We are a bubbly, chatty group who love meeting new people and trying new things and felt there was a gap in the market for people like us who enjoyed being social and creative but hadn't quite found that society that we fitted into. Our magazine is run by all girls for girls but in a bid to step away from this niche we also have monthly features by our His Campus writers and would love those from all identities to join our society.
We won Best Stall at the Freshers Fayre 2014, have reached Her Campus HQ's pink level despite only being an established chapter for just 3 years and we also were highly commended in the national awards including honourable mentions for our charity work and selected articles as well as achieving second place for team building. We want to continue to build our society, magazine and chapter as much as possible!
We host a variety of socials with the main ones being a Halloween Bar Crawl, Christmas Dinner, Her Campus Aberdeen 4th Birthday Party and an End of Term Dinner.
To join our society you don't have to be a talented or experienced writer - we'd just love for you to bring some good ideas and have a go! We also have members who organise our social events, run our PR and social media or those who just want to come along with the gang and have a bit of glitter related fun.
Please message us if you have any questions and we'd love to meet you soon! And take a look at our Facebook and website to see what we are about!
Come see us at the Societies Fayre on the 6th September on Campus between 11-3pm!
