AUCC is active in many different disciplines of paddle sports. Our members include keen white water paddlers and river trips are run most weekends during term time. Being located in the north east of Scotland we have plenty of white water available to us. The rivers Dee, Findhorn and North Esk are all within a couple of hours drive so there's something to suit all abilities!

We also have a very strong competitive side to our club. Our canoe polo Female and Male team won the SUS polo tournanent this year! We have also competed at the National Student Rodeo (freestyle kayaking) in Nottingham where we have won the duo catagory for the second year running!

AUCC is open to all students at Aberdeen University from freshers to postgrads, everyone is welcome no matter what your skill level. Newcomers to the sport will be taught the basics at pool sessions and given the opportunity to progress in whatever aspects of the sport they fancy. As a club we have an enthusiasm for all aspects of paddle sports and if you enjoy something not mentioned above don't let that put you off. We'll probably be happy to give it a go and you might be able to teach us something!

Our sessions are:

Tuesday (21:00 - 22:30)

Thursday (19:30 - 21:00)

in the diving pool at the ASV Aquatics Centre.

We also have a dedicated canoe polo session on Sunday evening (19:30 - 21:30) for those wishing to develop canoe polo skills!

Our club has a VERY active social scene; with club nights out twice a week and two enormous pub-crawls.  We certainly are the most social club in Aberdeen! In October we have a massive 2-day party called Freshers Weekend where everyone has awesome fun and then possibly go kayaking in the mornings. It is honestly the best party EVER!! Though few can ever remember what happened at it.

To all the freshers and any kayakers coming to Aberdeen University this year, if you're going to pick one club to join then join AUCC. You will have loads of fun, go kayaking and make great new friends!!!
