Our club provides anyone of any ability the opportunity take part in the thrilling sport that is horse riding. We have created a friendly, welcoming club that allows you to continue your studies alongside enjoying the love that comes from horses.
Whether you are a beginner who has never even met a horse before, or someone who is out competing at BE, BS or BD we encourage you to come and meet our wonderful members and of course the ponies and horses too!
Taking part in our lessons never interferes with your university and we encourage our members use our lessons as stress relief to make studying that bit easier, unlike other sports clubs we don't need 100% commitment from you! The lessons range from beginner to advanced and you can take it all at your own speed, we also sometimes take part in pony club games and hacking.
We have 1 team competing in the BUCS championship league, and 2 teams competing in the BUCS trophy league. The BUCS equestrian teams is unique as all riders compete on borrowed horses, which removes a barrier to participation as students do not need to own a horse. All teams train bi-weekly and focus on jumping and test training in preparation for competitions. In the past our teams have won regionals and national championships.
This year is going to be an exciting one as we are already planning many socials and fun activities, along with the chance to take part in our yearly club trip to Perth Ladies Day.
