Which factors encourage youth engagement? How can we promote young peoples' voices? Should we introduce youth quotas in elections?
For our international conference, we have invited experts in the fields of Youth and Democracy, with varying backgrounds from grassroot social movements, to academics and politicians.
The functioning of democracy is contingent upon the engagement of citizens in it, with young citizens being affected eminently by current and future decisions. Their involvement is critical and highly desirable for long-term democratic success. Open to students, academics and the local community, we therefore intend to identify the factors that encourage youth engagement in democracy, and investigate possible ways of promoting them.
To this end we will be hosting six Ted-Talk style lectures, interactive workshops and a panel discussion with time for Q&A.
By participating in the conference, you will have access to high-profile keynote speakers and the opportunity to actively engage with your peers as well as experts. Along the latest insights into the topic we also provide free lunch and coffee breaks, during wich you can socialise and network with fellow students.
