Event Description

Feminist Embroidery Workshop

Aberdeen University Interfaith Centre/ Chaplaincy

Tuesday 14 November 2017 at 4pm - 7pm

Feminist Embroidery Workshop

Beginners embroidery workshop in conjunction with Feminist Society.

Interested in craftivism but not sure how to get involved?

Knitting and Feminist Societies have joined forces to bring you  our feminist embroidery workshop: it's suitable for all levels and the perfect place to get started.

Tuesday 14th November

16:00-19:00

Aberdeen University Chaplaincy

We'll be teaching you some basic stitches and giving you free reign to embroider any feminist slogans you like.

No previous experience required and equipment will be provided.

Cost TBD but should be around £5 and will cover all the kit you need to make, take it away with you! (including your very own embroidery hoop)

Please mark yourself down as going so we can estimate how much equipment to buy!

Feel free to bring along your own garments to embroider instead- as a rough guide they shouldnt be stretchy and should sit flat where you want to embroider over, also you should be able to easily turn the area you want to embroider inside out (don't do sleeves!).
