Do you love woodlands, nature and the outdoors? So do we! Scotland's forests are arguably one of its greatest resources. They supply us not only with timber, but support complex and biodiverse ecosystems, provide irreplaceable spiritual and therapeutic value for those who visit them, and form a key part of the dramatic landscape of this beautiful country. At the Aberdeen University Woodland Society, we aim to help students from all walks of life get out of the classroom, get outdoors, and explore the amazing woodland environments in and around Aberdeen, learning about these wonderful places and getting the chance to gain hands on experience in their management. If any of this interests you, then stay tuned! Not only is there plenty of chance to get in touch with nature through activites like tree planting and habitat creation, the Woodland Society also gives students from a variety of disciplines a platform to discuss current environmental issues and challenges, and socialise with friendly, like-minded people.
