Freshers' Fayres

When are Freshers' Fayres taking place and where?
Freshers' Fayres will be orgnised on 3rd and 4th of September in the giant Marquee on King's Pitches.

As a committee member, what do I need to know about the new format of the fayres?
• Tuesday and Wednesday’s fayres will be a mix of Societies, Sports Clubs, Student Groups, Forums and external partners’ stalls. So instead of having one sport and one societies fayre, we will be having two days of fayres where each group will get a stall on one chosen day.
• Students will be encouraged to go to both days of events as it will be the only way to take in everything there is on offer. Students came to us worried that people who were considered ‘sporty’ were missing out on society day and vice-versa. These changes will hopefully combat that and we will tailor all our communications to ensure that it is clearly communicated that the fayre will have different offerings each day.
• The fayres will be back on the King’s Pitches so there will still be loads of room for displays on the pitches, give-it-a-go’s and activities. These will be booked like a stall to make sure you have enough space and it’s safe. So we will be mixing both sports clubs and societies up to make sure there is ample room.
• AUSA will make a schedule for the two days based on mixing everything up as best as possible to make each day as attractive as possible. We will release this in advance to committees, so if there are any major clashes, we will be able to listen to concerns and make changes that are necessary.
• As with any change, we understand that there are some concerns and challenges you are worried we haven’t considered. As we are here for the students and we want to improve things, we want to make sure you have the opportunity to give us feedback so feel free to contact us on ausa@abdn.ac.uk.

Societies and Sports Groups

How do I get a stall at the Freshers' Fayres?
A tyepform is sent out to all societies, sports clubs and student groups. If you didn't receive yours, please e-mail societies@abdn.ac.uk.

What's the deadline for Freshers' event submission?
The deadline for getting information on Give it a Go’s to us is the 28th June 2019. We can only accept confirmed events, so we will be unable to accept any ‘TBC’s’ and will not be making changes to information after this date.
