President’s Update

Here are some updates on events that have held and latest developments:

  • AUSA successfully held Freshers’ Week on the 2nd to 10th September, 2017
  • AUSA participated in Celebrate Aberdeen on the 26th August, 2017 from Albyn Place through Union Street.
  • Superteams 2017 was successfully hosted by the Sports Officer on the 30th September, 2017 at the King’s Pitches.
  • Health and Wellbeing Day was held on 12th October, 2017, at Elphinstone Hall, University of Aberdeen. Done in collaboration with the University of Aberdeen and Cluedup.
  • Annual inter-Faith Kirking of the Students’ Association was held on the 18th of October, 2017 at James Mackay Hall, University of Aberdeen
  • Torcher Parade, the age-long AUSA event to raise fund for local charities, was successfully held this year on Saturday the 21st October, 2017

First Bus

  • AUSA has commenced negotiation for further reduction of student discount for First Bus transport with Aberdeen. Good progress has been made in regards to securing this discount for Bus 20 that plies inside the University. Also, the waiting period for the bus is likely to be abridged from our discussion with the Operations Manager, David Adam which was had on Friday the 13th October, 2017 at First Bus Officer here in Aberdeen.

  • First Change Ticket: Please ask for change ticket from any of the First Bus drivers if you do not have coins but have bigger currency. It is the practice, for now at least, that First Bus do not give change. But some people do not know that they have arrangement for change ticket if you ask for it. Get your change ticket from them and go to the First Bus office at Union street to get your change. This information was given to us by the Operations Manager during our last meeting with him. I tried it with the Education Officer and got my change ticket.
